Office of Undergraduate Research

Through undergraduate research, Boise State students hone problem solving and critical thinking skills that will serve them for a lifetime, no matter the direction their career paths follow.

What is Undergraduate Research?

Undergraduate research, scholarship, and creative inquiry is fundamentally a pedagogical approach to teaching and learning. With an emphasis on process, the Council on Undergraduate Research defines undergraduate research as: A mentored investigation or creative inquiry conducted by undergraduates that seeks to make a scholarly or artistic contribution to knowledge.

Recognition for Undergraduate Research

The Excellence in Undergraduate REsearch and Creative Activity (EURECA) is a newly instituted graduation cord that seeks to recognize Boise State students who have demonstrated commitment to development as a researcher or in creative work while pursuing their undergraduate degree.

Students completing requirements for EURECA will be recognized at an end of semester recognition ceremony and will receive a certificate and an honor cord from the Institute for Inclusive and Transformative Scholarship (IFITS) to wear at commencement.
