Sass presents on using AI to empower community solutions

Margaret Sass presented at the OLC Innovate 2025, a joint conference presented by the Online Learning Consortium and MERLOT, a curated online learning platform. The conference, now celebrating its 10th anniversary, is dedicated to reimagining the future of digital education. This year’s theme, “The Rhythm of Innovation: Hitting the High Notes in Digital Education,” brought together educators, technologists and thought leaders from around the globe.

Sass presented “Empowering Community Solutions: Integrating AI Tools in Community-Based Learning” during a discovery session on Thursday, April 3. Her session explored how emerging AI technologies — particularly ChatGPT and custom AI personas — can be integrated into community-based learning curricula. Through this approach, students are equipped to identify real-world community issues.
