Dry Ice Shipments

The listed shipper must be certified to ship hazardous materials. Failure to do so could result in serious fines from the Department of Transportation. Please contact jonscaggs@boisestate.edu to send you a link to take the short course and quiz to get certified. Then send this certificate to bioinfo@boisestate.edu.

Outgoing FedEx Shipments

Outgoing FedEx shipments must be brought by the shipper to an acceptable FedEx pickup location. Biology staff are not able to perform this task for you. Incoming FedEx shipments will be delivered to Central receiving, then later delivered to our office. Listing the appropriate mail stop is the best way to ensure that a package reaches our office in a timely manner. Please note that shipments may take an additional 24 hours to reach our office depending on Central receiving staff availability.

Dry Ice Training

Please go to https://cems.unh.edu/boisestate and log in to the system by clicking on “login” and then clicking on the TOP Boise State University User Login (don’t immediately enter your information under “other users.”) Then enter your BSU credentials. To complete the dry ice training: on your homepage / dashboard, click on the training link near the bottom. Then click on “view available courses.” From there, click on the button “start online training” for the “How to Ship Dry Ice” module. Dry Ice Shipping

Dry ice shipments can only be received at the FedEx location in Meridian (2700 W Fred Smith St, Boise, ID). You can either bring the package to FedEx, or you can coordinate a scheduled pickup through FedEx. FedEx is only allowed to pick up shipments on campus from Central receiving, so you will have to bring it to their office. This requires coordination with the biology staff to submit the pickup request and notify Central receiving that you will be bringing a package to them for pickup, so please plan accordingly and allow at least two business days before your shipment to set up this arrangement.
