Biography
Nicholas Lloyd has distinguished himself as an accounting and finance student through a diverse range of involvement and leadership. His officer responsibilities in eight student organizations include being president of Beta Alpha Psi, a co-founder of the Special Olympics Club, co-founder of the Investment Banking Club and associated vice president of Academic Affairs in ASBSU. As president of Beta Alpha Psi (BAP), Lloyd led his team to grow the accounting and finance club to become one of the largest student-led groups on campus. His team was awarded the Commitment to Community Campus Award for their efforts in fundraising over $40,000 to pack and distribute 100,000+ meals to food insecure Idahoans across the state.
Lloyd has completed five full-time internships at companies like Simplot, Lockheed Martin and Microsoft. During his time at Lockheed Martin, he received his Secret security clearance to work for the space segment on military satellite communications. At Microsoft, Lloyd earned a spot on the highly competitive investor relations team, where he sat in on C-suite discussions and engaged in positioning conversations. Upon graduation, Lloyd has signed on full-time with Microsoft’s Finance Rotation Program where he will complete four six-month rotations across different business segments and finance roles. With long-term goals of pursuing an MBA, Lloyd has spent recent months preparing to sit for his GMAT entrance exam.
He has worked to represent and grow the university at every opportunity. To better the lives of students, Lloyd has spent the last three years in student government working to advocate for scholarships, leading the Academic Senate and sitting on nine university committees. Representing Boise State by competing at the national level, he has placed top three in eight different competitions across the U.S. This summer, Lloyd was also admitted into Harvard’s Summer Venture Into Management Program, where he was one of 200 students selected from various universities internationally. In Boston, he wore blue and orange during Harvard Business School MBA lectures, in case-study competitions and during conversations with business leaders. Lloyd was selected as an Out Of The Blue campaign representative to help advocate for the university in various premier marketing campaigns.
