Biography
Sarah Cole focuses on developing advanced materials for extreme reactor environments. Her research on nuclear fuel manufacturing sparked her curiosity about the socio-technical policy challenges of the U.S. nuclear fuel cycle. She interned with the American Nuclear Society in Washington, D.C. and at SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory at Stanford University.
She also served as a delegate to the Nuclear Engineering Student Delegation in Washington, D.C., where she met with Idaho’s congressional delegation to advocate for nuclear policy initiatives. At Boise State, she serves as president of the Nuclear Energy Club and led a statewide outreach initiative to promote nuclear science education.
This fall, Cole will pursue a doctorate in nuclear science and engineering at MIT. There, she will conduct materials science research for nuclear fuels, helping drive the future of clean energy.
Cole is from Meridian, Idaho.
